The final weekend of the high school version of March Madness is upon us. The North Battleford Comprehensive High School senior girls basketball team went into the championship ranked fourth and knew they were in tough against Moose Jaw Peacock.

It will be a dream come true for some local baseball teams.

They got off to a shaky start, but soon found their footing. The Humboldt Broncos were in somewhat of a must-win situation last week heading into Game 3 of their series against the Melfort Mustangs.

Round 1 is done. The Humboldt Broncos played Game 5 of their best-of-seven series against the Melfort Mustangs on March 15 at the Elgar Petersen Arena in Humboldt, in front of more than 750 people.

It was a great weekend for some local basketball teams. Over the weekend, a number of local high school basketball teams headed off to Regionals, including the 1A Girls' Regionals hosted at Lake Lenore School March 15-16.

The Wilkie Outlaws left no doubt Friday about who was the champion of the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League in 2013. Wilkie, the second-overall team, earned the win over the first-overall St.

The division series are set in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and four of the league top five regular season teams are still alive.

It was a do-or-die game for the Battlefords Bantam AA Barons Tuesday at the Battleford Arena, as they faced the Sask Valley Vipers.

It was a wild finish to the game - and the season - for the Battleford Beaver Blues on Friday night.

The Battlefords Bantam AA Barons are one of the lone teams remaining in the Battlefords and they are playing for the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League North Division title.
