While most school-aged kids look to get out of their houses during the school break in February, a group of youth were in the house - the house on the curling rink that is.

Put the brooms away. There won't be any series sweeps in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League semifinals. The Cut Knife Colts continued to upset top teams, as they beat the Battleford Beaver Blues 2-1 in overtime.

As the province counts down the days to the Brier and curling fans are glued to their TVs to watch the Scotties, provincial level curling continues in Saskatchewan.

For some of the Battlefords Midget Stars, it was their final weekend of midget hockey.

There seems to be no signs of slowing down for the North Battleford Comprehensive High School senior girls basketball team. In fact, they may be getting stronger if that is possible.

The Battlefords AAA Sharks wrapped up the regular season with one of their best crowds of the season and their largest roster.

The Battlefords North Stars put themselves in a position to finish with the best record in the franchise's history in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The North Stars improved to 40-15-0-2 after winning Sunday in Kindersley.

There were some close games in the New Horizon curling Feb. 14 with Wisner, Hagen and Gordey coming out on top in the final end.

The North Battleford Comprehensive High School wrestling team battled in the Western Canadian High School Wrestling Tournament Feb. 3 and 4 in Saskatoon. The tournament was held in the Hank Ruys Soccer Centre.

With the Tim Hortons Brier just two weeks away, many curling fans are on the hunt to find tickets to the event in Saskatoon.
