Senior AAA - The Lloydminster Border Kings hosted the Rosetown Red Wings in the first game of the semifinal series Sunday. Both teams have several notable players with professional, WHL, CIS and SJHL experience and it showed in the first game.

The Battlefords Midget Stars ended the regular season Feb. 19 and that day, the Stars drew the winners of the 2012 lottery. The winners are as follows: Grand prize winner of $2,000 - Natelle Clark, Aberdeen.

There are just four weeks remaining before the New Horizons wind up the curling season. Nine teams are still in the running for first place. Right now, Hall and Rogers are a half game up on Belyk, Gordey, Krismer and Scott.

The Battlefords Bantam AA Barons remain one of the hottest teams in the league, as they wrapped up their regular season on the weekend. The Barons skated to an 8-6 win against Prince Albert Friday, as they fired 54 shots at the net.

Two Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League teams had their seasons end this week, while 10 remain in the hunt for the Canalta Cup. As the league moves to playoff action, the regular season award nominees have been announced both for players and coaches.

The top four teams in the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League regular season standings are all still standing.

February 24Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League playoffs continue with Battleford in Cut Knife for game four and Perdue in Glaslyn for game three. Game times are 8 p.m.

Tuesday, the flash in the sky from a meteor was right on cue. It was like a firework going off to celebrate the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season.

Regional high school curling took place across the province on the weekend and now the top teams have slid through to provincials.
