The North Battleford Beavers faced a handful of alumni of the North Saskatchewan River Baseball league Tuesday in provincial playoff action and it didn't go quite as planned for the current NSRBL players.

The Muenster Bantam Red Sox won the Bantam A Provincial Championship in Melfort July 16-17. The Sox defeated Unity in the final 9-4, but it wasn't an easy road to get there. The team finished round robin play with two wins one loss.

It took awhile to be determined and perhaps wasn't the most conventional way to get into the playoffs for some baseball teams, but the top eight have clinched and it's time to start the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League playoffs.

In the final weekend of regular series games before the playoffs, the Humboldt Midget AAA Dodgers played another four games over two days, coming away with three wins and one loss.
