BASEBALL North Saskatchewan River Baseball League July 5, 2010: St. Walburg Reds at Midwest Expos at Legion Park 6:30 p.m., North Battleford Beavers at Lloydminster Junior Redhawks at Hospital Park at 6:30 p.m.

The Muenster Bantam Red Sox baseball team won the North Central Minor Baseball League (NCMBL) league championship title on June 26 in Watson.

All seven teams in the Battlefords and District Ladies' Fastball League were in action Monday night at the Flats as the league playoffs began.

Mud and smoke filled the air, making the crowd go wild at the 39th annual JCI Demolition Derby. The derby was held on June 27, during the annual Humboldt Summer Sizzler and rodeo. There were 30 entries from across the province in the event.

The Battlefords and District Ladies' Fastball League MVPs were honoured Monday night between playoff games at the Flats. It was mostly pitchers receiving the league honours, but a few position players also made the cut.

Baseball was a way of life for so many great Saskatchewan athletes and Peter Fylyma was no exception. Fylyma will take his spot in the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum this summer, as he will be inducted as a player.

Past and present Battlefords North Stars hockey players dusted off their golf clubs and hit the links Saturday for the Annual North Stars Classic at the North Battleford Golf and Country Club.

It is said a bad day of golf is always better than a good day of work. Thursday was a great day of golf and to top it off money was raised that will be pumped back into the Battlefords.

Due to the record amounts of rainfall this year, many outdoor sports have had difficulties finding time to play. Soccer, baseball and golf are three sports that have been majorly affected by the wet conditions.
