Winds were howling on the morning of Sept. 12, something that worried everyone involved in the fox release. Putting added stress on already scared animals, taking their first steps back into the wild isn't something anyone is ready for.

How often of late have we heard the comment somewhere that 'everything is better with bacon'.

Last week I was lucky enough to speak with Doris Silcox and Margaret Olsen. The women had a showing of their knitting and embroidery work last weekend, which had people coming and going throughout the day.

The Moose Mountain Lions held their 3rd Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 29. A beautiful fall day for golfing was enjoyed by all who participated in the day. The teams of four enjoyed a Texas scramble style tournament.

"We're really rollin', now we're on our way!" As the theme song for the Saskatchewan Roughriders goes, the Green and White definitely appear to be rolling after back-to-back home wins over CFL West Division opponents the past two games.

A large group of dedicated racing fans attended the Second Annual Flyin' High at the Eagle Showdown which was held at the Big Eagle Ranch. The dust was flying and the motors revving on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Fall is here and with its beginning many Carlyle residents were expecting an election. However residents will not be casting a vote for their council members or mayor as every local candidate ran unopposed.

The CES School Community Council does great things for the town and its youth and is rarely recognized.

Somebody asks the grandmother whose two grandchildren are in carriages, "Well, how old are they?" And she says, "The doctor is five, and the lawyer is six months old.
