The 2012 Pink Day has been set for Wednesday, May 2nd. We are hoping that this year will be bigger and better. As a committee we would like to include the business community in our day's activities.

The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you wish others to do unto you." This Golden Rule is still relevant today even though the environment of bullying has changed.

In the Leader-Post of January 7, 2012, I read that the President of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) said, "There is no sugar coating the effects of impaired driving." She was speaking to students at Sheldon Williams Collegiate.

Donny Parenteau recently began a motivational speaking tour for schools entitled "It Starts with a Dream." The beginning of Donny's life was relatable to others from the small towns he visited.

The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 48 calls between April 13 and 19. April 13th began with a fire call in the area. The grass fire did not damage any property, and no one was injured in the blaze.

It must frustrate rural people to no end to hear the NDP Opposition bemoan the state of health care under Premier Brad Wall's government. Now, don't get me wrong. Saskatchewan Party government health care coverage is something less than perfect.

A day promoting women's health is to be held on May 5. The day will be filled with important information women need to know. It will be held at Kenosee Inn, located in Moose Mountain Provincial Park.

The scheduled meeting of Carlyle town council saw the council approve submitted building permits that will see two, three-story multi-unit apartment blocks built within the town.

Walking into Prairie Place Monday, April 16, was like walking into a fancy art museum. Gazing at the photos, you had to wonder who the talented artists were and how you could get your hands on some of their art.
