Hillary Isleifson has reached the four year eligibility point for participating in university athletics at the Montanan State University-Northern where she is majoring in biology.

Congratulations to Wade's Pee Wee Cougars on an exciting weekend of hockey! First the team played two games in the Oxbow tournament on Saturday. Good job Jarred, Jennifer, and Reid for sinking the puck in the net.

The Atom team had a great two games this weekend and one loss. The kids had a tournament in Estevan. There were three games they played. The first game they played was against an Estevan team. The kids won 10-6.

The Carlyle Cougars Novice 8 & Under team, played two games last week. They hosted Redvers, on Saturday, November 24 and visited Bienfait on Sunday, November 25. On Saturday, versus Redvers our team played hard.

Many years ago, when I was in Wawa, Ontario, someone told me, "Wawa has four seasons; before winter, real winter, cold winter and after winter." It is real winter now.

Last weekend I attended the SHSAA senior boy's volleyball provincial championship in Arcola. Although I knew little about the sport, I was still able to appreciate its fast pace and intensity.

Todd Davies grew up in Kipling, where he came to begin working in the oil field in 1989. Eventually he would go through an automotive course with General Motors focusing on onboard computers and diagnostics.

A very high honour was recently awarded to a number of individuals from the area. On Nov. 16, 2012, Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals were given out in Estevan.

Occasionally I write a more personal message to my readers. Having undergone surgery recently, this is one such time. How we respond to changes tells us about our trust in God.
