Estevan will get a taste of the Irish when Celtic Thunder stops in the Energy City on their fall tour. Emmet Cahill is part of Celtic Thunder, a group of Irish, and one Scottish, singers who will be performing in Estevan on Sept. 17 at Spectra Place.

A woman died of her injuries following a head-on collision between a semi and an SUV near Corinne on Sunday. The collision occurred at 10:19 a.m. on Highway 6, at a location 12.7 km north of Corinne.

Premier Brad Wall said the provincial government has not forgotten Estevan and the growing pains the city is facing due to the ongoing resource boom in southeast Saskatchewan.

Between Aug.16 to Aug. 22 there were a total of 86 calls received by the Carlyle detachment of the RCMP. 911 Calls There was a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute in Redvers. False Alarms There was a false alarm on Main Street in Carlyle.

Classes begin next week at schools city-wide, including at the Weyburn Comprehensive School, where construction is still well underway.

The 2013 Wishmaker Walk for Wishes will be held on September 14 at City Centre Mall. Participants from across the country are expected to raise over $1 million in pledges in support of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
