Weyburn Review

Students from the Weyburn Junior High work together on a spring clean up of the Weyburn Special Care Home yard on April 24. A few students walked residents around the block during their visit at the care home and socialized with the residents.

The future growth of Weyburn and the surrounding area, and how it is being managed by the Weyburn District Planning Commission was detailed to the business community during a Weyburn Chamber of Commerce breakfast.

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Debbie Oliver who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 20, 2012.

Samantha Evans, aka Little Miss Sunshine, gets into her pink hobby stock racing car, specially made to advocate against bullying. Evans will be racing in her second year at the Estevan Motor Speedway this year.

Pangman (cpd) - Brittany Rowland, a Grade 10 student from Pangman, competed in the national competition for power lifting in Calgary on April 12. She participated in three events and broke three national records.

Members of the Young Fellows Club of Weyburn gather with representatives of the Triple C Centre on May 1, as the Young Fellows make a commitment to donate a total of $100,000 as the club celebrates its 90th anniversary.

From April 23-29, the Weyburn Police Service attended to 116 calls for service. A number of the calls were related to the use of alcohol, and there were a number of domestic conflicts as well as noise complaints.

Esther Emma Altwasser, late of Regina, formerly of Yellow Grass, passed away in Regina one week after her 96th birthday.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Julian Hoff, a true gentleman, late of Weyburn on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the age of 88 years.

The Weyburn Police Service are looking for this ATV and those who were driving it on Apr. 22, after it drove in a dangerous way threatening people using the Tatagwa Parkway path in the area of Slezak Crescent and Barber Crescent.
