The sports scene in southeast Saskatchewan started like any other in 2020, with plenty happening in the first two months. Then COVID-19 hit, scuttling many events and changing others. Still, there were plenty of highlights this year.

We’re all looking forward to 2021

Most years, I’ve penned an opinion piece of why I’m looking forward to the following year. It’ll have the reasons you’d expect. Coming events. Fundraisers. Hockey games. Cool stories. Maybe an election.

Sask. COVID-19 update: seven deaths and 559 new cases in the past three days

There are 559 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan from the last three days, bringing the provincial total to date to 14,814 cases. The data update includes information for Dec. 25, 26 and 27.

Update: body of missing 25-year-old man has been found

Update: The Saskatchewan RCMP Underwater Recovery Team has located the body of the 25-year-old man who went missing on Grant Devine Lake (formerly known as Alameda Dam). The remains were found at about 3:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
