Singer Tenille Arts was a double SCMA winner at the 30th Annual Saskatchewan Country Music Awards, held over the weekend in Saskatoon. Tenille walked away with the trophies for Songwriter of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year.

Painter Sharon Olson will soon have one of her art works mounted in an unusual location, on a doorway facing an alleyway in downtown Regina.

Director Tanya Cameron, at left with the mike, led the cast and chorus for the musical "Mamma Mia" in some dance moves during rehearsal for the production coming up in May at the Cugnet Centre.

A hoop dancer will be the next performer through the Estevan Arts Council’s Koncerts for Kids series. Teddy Anderson is an internationally recognized performer, motivational speaker and children's book author.

The Estevan and District Music Festival wrapped up April 9, after more than two weeks of showcasing talented young and adult musicians in the community. This year’s festival started with the piano performances, which ran from March 24-30.

It had a slow start, but the Art on the Spot initiative offered at the Estevan Public Library proved to be a popular program. Art on the Spot ran from late February until the end of March.

Musical theatre was once again a big part of the Estevan and District Music Festival’s vocal and speech arts division. The musical theatre allowed the young people entered in the festival to demonstrate their singing and choreography skills.

The 55th annual Estevan and District Music Festival came to an end Tuesday night with the vocal and speech arts highlights and awards program at St. Paul’s United Church. Performers entertained the crowd with their singing and poetry abilities.

The Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) has announced a change in the date for the opening night reception of its next exhibit. Originally scheduled to be held on April 12, this reception will now be May 3 at 7 p.m.

The Estevan and District Music Festival recognized outstanding performers and handed out awards during the highlights and awards program for the band and instrumental discipline Monday night at the Estevan Comprehensive School.
