Members of the Estevan Comprehensive School (ECS) drama club had an impressive showing at the Saskatchewan Drama Association’s Regional Festival in Yorkton on the weekend.

Elvis tribute artist Dean Z borrowed a guitar from his backup band, the Cadillac Kings, as he showed his musical abilities during his show in Weyburn on Friday evening at McKenna Hall.

The Estevan and District Music Festival hosted the first of three festival highlights and awards programs Friday night with the piano performance at Trinity Lutheran Church.

One of the bigger music festivals in Saskatchewan, the Weyburn Rotary Music Festival, just wrapped up another year of competition and awards, and several competitors are moving on to the provincial level, continuing a long tradition in Weyburn.

The Souris Valley Museum is organizing the Greatest Easter Egg Hunt for local families. The event will be April 20 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the museum, located on Highway 39 west of the city.

Grade 5 and 6 students from Estevan’s six elementary schools had their chance to test their book knowledge on Friday morning at Westview School for the Estevan Area Literacy Group’s Battle of the Books.

Storyteller Leigh-Anne Kehler had her young audience clapping and doing actions as she told her tale, “Around The World and Back Again”, in a special presentation on Monday morning at the Weyburn Public Library.

Internationally acclaimed storyteller and actor Leigh-Anne Kehler made over 20 kids laugh, sing and dance along as she took them on an Around the World and Back Again adventure.

Former Estevan resident Joel Henderson, who performs under the name Poor Nameless Boy, returned to the Energy City on Saturday for a concert at Art Concepts Custom Framing.
