Gordon F. Kells students are thriving as published authors. Earlier this year a group of eight students in grades 7 and 8 were selected as finalists for the Polar Expressions Publishing poetry competition.

Country singer Codie Prevost has just released his leadoff single off his upcoming fifth album entitled, “You Won’t Sleep Tonight”. The song has been sent to radio stations across Canada and is available at all digital music outlets.

Gravelbourg Community Music Centre capped its music program season with its first annual “4 O’clock Rock” after-school teen music program recital and grad fundraiser at The Renaissance Gaiety Theatre in Gravelbourg on May 5.

Two workshops to assist front-line workers with children will be held in Stoughton by the Southeast Connection Sport, Culture and Recreation District on the weekend of June 17-18. Both workshops will be held at the Poplar Tree Inn.

Students at Sacred Heart School were treated to a visit by children’s’ author Erin Bow, who read from her book Plain Kate and explained to them the revision process of writing the novel.

Canada 150 was celebrated in song by the Assiniboia Community Choir at its Spring Concert at the Alliance Church in Assiniboia on May 7. This concert was one of the Canada 150 events happening in the community.
