A special High School Alumni Choir is being formed for Weyburn's centennial. Everyone and anyone who ever sang in a choir at the Weyburn Collegiate Institute (WCI) or Weyburn Comprehensive School (WCS) are invited to be part of an Alumni Mass Choir.

I (and about 300-odd others) were witness to an extraordinary evening on June 29, for the Len Williams Coaching Legacy benefit fundraiser held in the Legion Hall.

Emma Von Hagen uses cups as percussion as she sings a medley of her favourite Beatles songs, in a performance for the Junior Idol youth talent search at the Weyburn Fair on July 1.

Cars in the opening heat of the Demo Derby crash together to start the action off, in front of a packed grandstand with an overflow crowd on Wednesday evening at the Weyburn Fair.

July 1st celebrations were a plenty, with organized fun at Kenosee, White Bear Lake, and Manor, just to name a few. Kisbey also celebrated Canada Day, but they did not stop there.

The Weyburn and District Chamber of Commerce held the official kick-off to summer on July 2. The 2013 fair parade was dubbed the Centennial Parade in conjunction with the City of Weyburn's 100th birthday.

During the month of June, numbers have varied.

Throughout July and August, the Allie Griffin Art Gallery is featuring 'Historic Weyburn', an exhibition from the City of Weyburn's Permanent Collection as part of the City's Centennial Celebrations.

Summer is officially in full swing, school is out, the days are getting warmer and the task of finding activities for the kids is looming, with that said the Cornerstone Family and Youth organization (CFY) is again starting its summer club program.

Now that summer is finally here, parents and children are excited to start their summer vacation. But just because school's out doesn't mean we should take a vacation from learning.
