The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs senior boys basketball team was the class of a tournament in Brandon, Man., on the weekend. The Elecs went a perfect 5-0 to win the tournament.

Team Muyres, who represented Saskatchewan at last year’s Brier men’s curling championship, put on a curling clinic for junior curlers at the Weyburn Curling Club on Saturday afternoon.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings had two home games this weekend after having over a week off. First off the Red Wings hosted the Melfort Mustangs with high hopes to progress their two-game winning streak.

The Estevan Bruins went 2-for-2 in their home games on the weekend with a 3-1 victory over the Melfort Mustangs Saturday night at Affinity Place.

Another talented local athlete has committed to compete in collegiate sports in the U.S. in the fall of 2020.

Kersey Reich scored the winning goal with 6 1/2 minutes to play in the third period in the Estevan Bruins 3-1 victory over the Kindersley Klippers on Friday night at Affinity Place.

The Estevan Apex midget AA Bruins faced the Prairie Storm Dec. 8 at Affinity Place in a showdown between the top two teams in the Saskatchewan Minor AA Hockey League so far this season, and the showdown certainly met expectations.

The Southeast Aaron Well Servicing midget AA Goldwings split two games on a northern road trip on the weekend. They began the jaunt with a 5-0 victory over the Warman Wildcats on Dec. 7.

Youth football in Estevan will be well represented on the Sask. Selects Football team next year. Three players from the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs were chosen for the Selects varsity team.

The Carnduff Red Devils have cemented their spot atop the Big Six Hockey League after winning a marquee game. The Carnduff Red Devils shut out the defending league champions, the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings, 4-0 in Yellow Grass.
