This summer may have only just begun, but it has already heralded a lifetime of change for an Alameda hockey player.

Two athletes from the Weyburn Synchro Stars have recently qualified for the 2016-2017 High Performance Program with Synchro Saskatchewan. Savannah Pohl and Alexis Vandermey have both qualified for the High Performance Program.

The Estevan Southeast Elite U18 girls softball team captured a silver medal at a four-team tournament in Moose Jaw at Optimist Park on June 18 and 19. The Elite began the tournament round robin by beating a Regina squad 26-1 in three innings.

The Alameda Fishing Derby celebrated a milestone on Saturday, June 25, with their 20 th annual derby held. Coming out to enjoy the day included anglers of all ages: a total of 278 adults and 56 youth (12 and under) enjoyed the day.
