Carrie Belva Johnson passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Tatagwa View in Weyburn. Belva was born to the Christian family near Beaubier, Saskatchewan on July 19, 1918.

Ida Lawrence (nee Ritchie) of Assiniboia, passed away September 10, 2014 at age 95. Ida Sarah Ritchie was born October 15, 1918 at Goodwater, where she grew up and attended school.

Police received a complaint of a theft from a downtown business on Wednesday. Members of the Weyburn police attended and a 31-year-old male was arrested.

Weyburn's Kathryn Groshong has proven that age does not necessarily have to be a reason to give up sports. From Aug. 27 to 30, the 88-year-old participated in the Canada 55-plus Senior Games in Sherwood Park, Alta.
