The Weyburn Credit Union celebrated International Credit Union Day on Thursday in a number of ways.

The Weyburn Public Library opened their fall book sale on Thursday morning on the lower level, with tables filling the Allie Griffin auditorium, the hallway and the program room.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings announced today that they have traded Aaron de Kok and Christian Snyder to the Dryden Ice Dogs of the SIJHL for a PDF.

Two important dates on the calendar are coming up at the Weyburn Public Library, including the fall book sale, and Saskatchewan Library Week, which is being marked from Oct. 20-26. The fall book sale began on Thursday, Oct.

Election day for the federal election is on Monday, Oct. 21, and voting will take place in Weyburn at McKenna Hall from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Advance polls were held from Friday to Monday, and the deadline to apply to vote by mail passed on Tuesday.

Many ideas and suggestions were put forward by artists, crafts people and representatives of many arts groups and organizations gathered for an arts forum on Tuesday evening at the Signal Hill Arts Centre.

Weyburn police received a report from an individual on Oct. 8 who had blank bank cheques stolen, and they were used them to fraudulently obtain funds from the account. This matter is currently under investigation .

Grades 7-9 students at the Weyburn Comprehensive School heard a presentation on Thursday about a life-changing workplace accident by speaker Spencer Beach, who told the story of his horrific injuries and how he rebuilt his life afterward.

The Weyburn Gymnastics Club held a fundraiser supper and game show-themed entertainment on Saturday evening at McKenna Hall.

The Grades 10, 11 and 12 students of Choir at the Weyburn Comp practice the song, “I’m Into Something Good”, including some choreographed dance moves, as they rehearsed for their performance at Communithon on Friday, Oct. 25.
