Yorkton City council members approved a number of expenditures for the city on Monday evening including a master transportation plan that will accommodate both immediate needs and those into the future.

To the Editor: The 2011 commemoration of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP), was recognized on Monday October 17. The day focused on the theme "From Poverty to Sustainability: People at the Centre of Inclusive Development.

To the Editor: Re: "Occupy Canada protesters set up camp, prepare for next step." Edmonton Journal, Oct. 16, 2011. Thanks to the Internet, the super rich financial elite no longer have a complete monopoly over the mass media.

Taekwondo Challenge Kees Taekwondo Yorkton will host the Prairie Wildfire Taekwondo Challenge, an invitational, Olympic style taekwondo tournament with participants from four provinces and northern USA Saturday, October 22.

To the Editor: I am a Canadian citizen and have been living and farming in Denmark for the last 30 years. I graduated from the U of S, Saskatoon in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. I have family farming in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Harvest slump continues at the hands of Trojans

Five goals should win a hockey game. Unfortunately for the Yorkton Harvest, whose slump continues, the opposing team, the Tisdale Trojans scored seven goals to claim the 7-5 win at the Tisdale Recplex Thursday night.
