It has been a successful season for the junior girls basketball players who won the district competition in Sturgis February 26-27, said Coach Ronda O’Dell.

Scenes from the ice sculptures fun day at the Canora Composite School grounds on March 11 - Grade 6B won the junior snow sculpture with ice fishing snowmen. - Grade 9 won senior snow sculpture for the living room the students created.

Grady Wolkowski, a Grade 7 student, was ready to mark St. Patrick’s Day last week when he came to school dressed in green.

Business owners within Canora’s downtown business core are being asked to participate in a beautification competition run by the Canora Economic Development Commission.

Members of the Good Spirit 4-H Club participated in a public speaking competition in Canora on March 6. The judges were: Betty Tomilin, Jennifer Hamilton, Ronda O’Dell and Amy Wunder.

After being an employee for six years, Mathew Sleeva is now the owner of Gabora Electric in Canora. Sleeva said he wanted to keep using the same name because everybody knows Gabora Electric and the former owner, the late Jerry Gabora.
