The Canora branch of the Royal Canadian Legion is well on its way to having raised enough money to re-shingle the roof of its hall – the Dugout.

The contributions of the Canora Gateway Lodge Auxiliary members were celebrated during the annual spring tea on Saturday.

The Student Representative council (SRC) and the staff have been organizing numerous activities to boost the school spirit at Canora Composite School, said Curtis Baillie, vice-principal.

Before the annual spring meeting of the Canora Minor Hockey Association, the players, coaches, managers and other staff were recognized.

Sunrise Health Region Public Health and 601 Outreach Yorkton participated in spring clean-up of discarded syringes April 25 and May 2. Individuals use syringes for many different purposes, said a release from Sunrise.

Thirty-three students and adults from the Canora-Buchanan area who travelled to Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England during the Easter school break, participated in what was “probably one of the best trips we have been able to provide,” said Brent Ca
