An 80th anniversary celebration was held at the Lutheran Nelson Lake Bible Camp on August 14. “The event was well attended and a beautiful Sunday afternoon was enjoyed by all,” said Donna Chalupiak.

Students at the Preeceville School walked through the doors on September 1 and were greeted by administrative staff members Doug King, principal; Kent Seerey, vice-principal, and Laura Sliva, who is in office administration.

A core of 20 players makes up the roster for the Preeceville Panthers football team. A football camp held from August 29 to September 9 was a clear indication that the team is ready to take on its competitors.

Roy Pristie of Sturgis recently acquired a 1970 Chevrolet modified pull truck with the name Wasted Wages. He purchased the truck from a Hodgins Auction in 2015.

Brad Cameron, the principal, and other staff at the Sturgis Composite High School welcomed students back to another school year.

Visiting Gerald and Darlene Burman were her sister Mildred Miller and her son Barry and wife Laura from Mission, BC. Charlie and Penny LaRocque of Brandon, MB also visited them this past weekend.

A former Canora resident’s love of video games and science fiction has encouraged him to follow his dreams and join the Canadian Space Agency, where he’s now taking part in the first mission that will bring asteroid material back to Earth.

A former Canora resident is being inducted into a university hall of fame for her sports accomplishments.

Canora residents, as well as visitors from Yorkton and Edmonton, honoured the Keen Age Centre members who celebrated a birthday over the summer with a social. A total of 65 people attended the celebration held on August 28 at the Keen Age Centre.
