The community of Preeceville celebrated a week-long set of activities and events that were based on the celebration of Old Home Week.

Jasmine Knihniski discovered a wonderful opportunity that will see her traveling overseas to Tanzania, Africa for a 20-day volunteer service program.

Campers for years have been attending the Nelson Lake Bible Camp located on the shores of Nelson Lake. This year marks a milestone for the camp with celebrations scheduled for the 80 th birthday.

Along with the featured chariot and chuckwagon races, there were numerous other activities to keep everyone busy at the Preeceville and District Lions club western weekend on July 15 to 17.

Chuckwagon and chariot races were the highlight of Preeceville Lions Club Western Weekend on July 15 to 17. There were 54 chariots entered in three days of races that saw Colt Peterson of Kelvington claiming the top fastest time over the three days.

Children are invited to celebrate the power of imagination at the Preeceville Public Library this summer with the TD Summer Reading Club .

A coed slo-pitch tournament, on July 16, during the Preeceville Lions Western Weekend attracted 12 teams. The Rama Rams defeated the Ryley's Rockets to win the A side and the Outlaws defeated the Thunder Monkeys to win the B side.

The Etoimamie Valley Riders Club allowed avid horse riders to showcase their skills at various events during the gymkhana event which was part of the Preeceville Western Weekend July 16 and 17. Jen Hue was the announcer for the two-day event.

The City of Yorkton is promoting a new service now available to local residents. SaskAlert is the Government of Saskatchewan’s comprehensive emergency public alerting program. Yorkton joined the service in 2015 and has been tweaking it for launch.
