Members of the Canora Composite School cross-country team continue their twice-weekly practices as the focus turns to districts and, maybe, provincials.

Darryl Binkley and Glen Sterzer of Kamsack once again won the men’s division of the Canora Seniors’ Golf Tournament. The pair shot a 76 during the competition which was played on Friday.

The members of the Sturgis Composite High School cross-country team did well at the Cherrydale Cross-Country Meet held in Yorkton on September 9.

Elementary students from Preeceville School enjoyed participating in their annual track-and-field meet that was kicked off with the back-to-school barbecue on September 4.

For the season opener, the Canora Cougars football team won 20-6 in Milestone on September 4, but for the home opener, the Cougars lost 52-0 to Raymore.

The Yorkton Peewee Gridders proved to be the worst kind of hosts Sunday afternoon at Yorkton’s Century Field, dismantling the visiting Regina Rams 56-0 to improve to 5-0 for the 2015 Regina Minor Football Peewee Division season.
