The Yorkton R. Miller’s ‘AA’ Bantam Cardinals had just three days to prepare for the 23rd annual Melville Baseball Tournament, not coming together as a team until Tuesday, July 7.

A new country meant a new start for the Parkland Expos midget ‘AAA’ baseball team as the ‘AAA’ Expos went 3-1 in a 16-team baseball tournament down in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Yorkton United girlss U18/16 team captured gold at the Saskatchewan Soccer Provincial Championships in Lloydminster on June 26-28. The first game of the Championships was against Battlefords. Yorkton came out strong with a 4-0 victory.

The 105th annual Rhein Sports Day is in the books. Saturday kicked off with a six-team Mosquito baseball tournament. Tournament organizer Kirbey Stewart stated that five Yorkton teams and one team from Canora took part.

Willen Paligan of Preeceville won three gold medals at the 2015 TCU (Teachers’ Credit Union) Financial Saskatchewan Provincial Championships in Regina on June 12 to 14.

The Yorkton Cardinals managed a split in six games in the last week, edging the team into third place in the Saskatchewan Division of the Western Major Baseball League.
