When everyone was done golfing in the rain late this past Sunday afternoon at the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course and all numbers had been tallied, the new club champion in the ladies' division was Wendy Boyle.

Now they're 2-0. This time last year it was the other way around.

The Health Foundation's 4th Annual Charity Road Race was a huge success, raising a record $41, 500 for operating room equipment.

About 50 kids took part in the first phase of a skills development hockey camp put on with the assistance of the SHA (Saskatchewan Hockey Association) and Hockey Canada. Helping to oversee the week-long camp was Ed Zawatsky.

Locals play in longest recorded nationals game

There were a lot of people at Kinsmen Century Field this past Saturday. I guess with the end of the summer pretty much here, it shouldn't be too surprising to anyone.

Both of the Yorkton Regional High School's football teams got a little ahead of their class schedule on the weekend and both got their football schedules off to a running start last weekend, one weekend before the official start of classes.

If it was a regular-season matchup, there'd be a little more reason to be worried on the sidelines. In their first and only exhibition tilt of the early going, the YRHS Raider senior football team went up against a stronger team based out of Regina.

Cardinals' hurler could have gone longer at nationals' game

The Gold in the Net goaltending school came back to Yorkton for the fourth time last week.Instructors said during the final day that it is one of the best goaltending schools available throughout the world.
