Anyone paying any attention to the hockey battle that is starting to take place as of Monday night (and by the sound of it there aren't that many of us), the 2011 Stanley Cup championship is kind of starting to take some shape.

A big four-run inning turned out to be a good start to a good game and a good weekend as the Alexander's Mens Wear Junior Cardinals went 2-0 in Regina Optimist League action over the weekend.

The CrossFit Regina team which included Yorkton's Taryn Romanowich, competed in the CrossFit Games regional competition held recently in Vancouver. Competing were 23 teams, including a six-man team from Regina.

The Junior B Bulldogs lacrosse team has been operating in the City for at least the past three summers, and there is hope that enough players will be able to be put together to form a minor lacrosse team.

Twenty locals came out last Tuesday to take part in the Charity Road Race's Learn to Run at the Yorkton Regional High School. Sylvia Gay of Yorkton has been participating in the Road Race for three years and said she loves doing it.
