Police are warning residents to be cautious after a homeowner lost thousands of dollars in what investigators say was a fraudulent driveway paving scheme.

Fire investigators with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency determined the wildfire was human-caused and Waskesiu RCMP began a criminal investigation. 

A 50-year-old man has been charged with arson to property, break and enter, and arson disregard for life.

When officers arrived they found a male suffering from what appeared to be serious, life-threatening injuries.

Two women had allegedly assaulted an employee with a golf club and stole two bottled of liquor, before fleeing the scene.

During a search of the suspects and their vehicle, officers found 58 grams of cocaine, a small amount of fentanyl, and cash.

Dorian Loessl's crimes involved the use of a rifle, a large knife, and a taser, according to parole documents.

One of Nakota Pooyak's assault victims was Zennen Thomas, who himself was charged with second-degree murder.

The traffic stop was conducted by conservation officers with Provincial Protective Services, and the RCMP were called in when drugs and weapons were found.
