A 78-year-old man drowned Wednesday morning while fishing with a friend on Deserter Lake in the RM of Spiritwood. Spiritwood RCMP say the man who died fell overboard, simultaneously causing the boat to capsize.

The Battle West district has plenty of athletes heading to Yorkton this weekend for the SHSAA Provincial Track and Field Championships in Yorkton. In total, 157 individual entries along with eight relay teams are heading to Yorkton.

Guilty pleas have been entered by an individual charged in a police chase incident that took place in the RM of Battle River March 6.

Three individuals have been arrested and charged with a break and enter at Remedy’s Pharmacy in Battleford June 3. Arrested are Andre Jacques, Tamara Machiskinic and Vance Machiskinic.
