North Battleford RCMP responded to about 43 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, May 16 and 6 a.m. Saturday, May 17. Among those calls were three false alarms and two traffic/driving complaints. Friday 7:12 a.m.

The City of North Battleford has lifted the fire ban implemented May 12 due to the rain over the weekend.

DELAIRE: It is with great sadness that Erica and Ron Delaire announce the passing of a loving son and brother, Raymond Delaire on March 25, 2014 in Montreal. Ray passed on peacefully during his sleep to his new home.

The weather is great, I hope spring is finally here. By the time you read this, the rain I had marked for May 18 and 19 will have happened. The hoar frost rains I mark usually come a day or two earlier than the date I mark down.

McLEOD: Rick McLeod, January 16, 1955 - May 12, 2014. Richard Allen Theil Storey McLeod of Parkridge, Saskatoon, SK passed away on May 12th at the age of 59 years.

THORSTEINSON, ELIZABETH ISABEL: Elizabeth Isabel Thorsteinson, 90 years of age, of Saskatoon, went to her Heavenly home on May 7, 2014 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

Children are transparent. When they smile, it lights up a room. When they laugh, it is from their heart. When they cry, it is like the world is ending. When they love, they love with their whole heart. They live and breathe what they see.

As I write, the global community, at least much of it, is celebrating Mother's Day. My mom is gone now, but time has no power to erase the memories I have of her. She was everything a kid, or a teen, a new mother or a proud grandmother could want.

It was a long weekend for North Battleford RCMP, who were called to more than 50 occurrences between 6 a.m. Sunday, May 18 and 6 a.m. Monday, May 19.

TEMPLE: 1933 - 2014, The family of Marguerit Evelyn Temple is sad to announce her passing on April 16th, 2014 in North Battleford, Sask. Marguerit was born in Meadow Lake, Sask. She moved to Ontario as a young woman to seek work with a dear friend.
