It was a busy weekend for Battlefords RCMP as the responded to more than 70 calls/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 and 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13. More than 25 arrests were made for a variety of offences.

The Battlefords AAA Stars started off 2014 with three straight wins this past week in SMAAAHL action. Josh LaFramboise was the star of the weekend with five goals and six assists in the three games.

A group of individuals interested in the arts hope to make downtown North Battleford a destination for artists and arts supporters.

Cut Knife RCMP are looking for a white 2004 to 2008 Grand Prix they believe was involved in a hit and run in Cut Knife at about 2:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Police say two vehicles collided at the intersection of Dion Avenue and Broad Street.

Councillor Cathy Richardson can point with pride to having the best city council attendance in 2013. By contrast, Councillor Trent Houk holds the dubious distinction of having the worst.
