Saturday, Marion Staughton took Jean Stewart, Tillie Linkert, Hazel MacEachern and I to Lloydminster to the Louisiana Hayride at the Vic Juba centre. It was a great evening and the music and singers were terrific. We all enjoyed it very much.

Two incidents involving knives were dealt with by Battlefords RCMP Wednesday. Two people have been charged after RCMP were called to a report of domestic dispute involving weapons in the 1300 block of 103rd Street.

Wednesday members of the Battlefords RCMP detachment dealt with more than 30 new calls for service and incidents in the community. 8:47 a.m.

I have been away on a most enjoyable three-week holiday at my daughter Linda and Larry Fiddler's in Medicine Hat. Cards were played at the Maidstone Drop in Centre Oct 7. High score went to Tillie Linkert and low to Jean Stewart. Oct.

Pumpkin carving for kids of all ages, from 2 to 72, was held at Paynton library. The carvers have a great time every year and get together for a harvest-style supper afterwards.

Centenarians are still rare, and so, my father, John Benjamin Jackson can be considered a rare man, having reached 100 years of age on Oct. 1.

The frigid wind was no deterrent for the members of the Battlefords Art Club Tuesday. Many members came and worked on various projects. The lunch meeting was dominated with the final plans for the club's "Sparkle With Art" show this coming weekend.
