This week the Maidstone High School basketball teams have been busy. The senior girls' basketball team will be hosting their annual basketball tournament. They played Paradise Hill and won their league.

After failing to make the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League playoffs again, the Battlefords Midget Stars season came to an end earlier than they would have like, as the team handed out their awards at a banquet Saturday at the Civic Centre.

Two people were injured following a collision between a car and a semi on Highway 16 east Thursday. The collision happened around 12:45 pm. According to police the location of the collision was approximately 10 kilometres east of North Battleford.

Eric Veikle was just nine years old when he had his first major heart incident. He was running outside during gym class at Cut Knife Elementary School when he collapsed.

The Old Mill Players cast and crew of Mayfair drama club performed Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner Feb. 18 and 19 and Feb. 25 and 26 in the Mayfair Community Hall. This marked the 12th year of performances by the group.
