With a combined 45 years experience competing at provincial events, Team Holland is aiming to make it to the top.

With a new addition to a team that’s otherwise been together for five seasons, Team Barker is aiming to represent Saskatchewan at the nationals.

Sherry Just wasn’t sure if she would compete in women’s curling this year. She decided to put a team together and is now competing in the provincials. “I decided to go back to skipping a team this year,” she said.

Two champions of the 2016 provincials are back with a new team to compete for the title here in Humboldt. “We are aiming to make the playoffs and hope for the best, one game at a time,” said Ashley Howard, the skip.

Team Eberle has a third-place finish from last year’s provincials to build on as they prepare to compete in Humboldt.

With the exception of one member, it’s the first time at the provincials for the newly formed Team Mitchell. “We’re very excited to have been able to qualify for provincials on our first go,” said Jessica Mitchell, the team’s skip.

KINISTIN — A Kinistin man faces charges in connection to an incident where a man broke into homes and assaulted the residents. Seven people were assaulted.

HUDSON BAY — Fifty medical students and residents travelled to Hudson Bay for a showcase of rural and regional medical centres in Saskatchewan. This was part of the Saskatchewan Medical Association’s Roadmap Program.
