After last week’s tough outcome, the Humboldt Broncos bounced back this week with their Jan. 26 win at home against the third place Melfort Mustangs.

The City of Humboldt with be planning a different budget for 2016. This year, city officials will be using the Priority Based Budgeting system developed by a group in Colorado to analyze where and how tax dollars are being used.

For the staff of the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery, January to March will be an exciting time with four new exhibits making their way to Humboldt, including two that are on display right now in the Humboldt Art Gallery.

Humboldt businesses got to see the power of partnership at the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on Jan. 21.

It was a disappointing week for the Humboldt Broncos. The Broncos went out on the road this week with some momentum after picking up three of a possible four points. They return home licking their wounds after finishing the week 0-3.

Skiers were carving up the trails at Carlton Trail Ski Club Jan. 24, as the club hosted the Sask Cup #3 cross-country skiing race. The race brought out 65 competitors in 23 different events and skiers ranged in age from 4- 64 years old.

It’s time to stop being easy on kids. Over the years kids sports has devolved from competition to just a game and school isn’t about knowledge just pushing kids through.
