Battleford is having a record year for construction. Monday evening Battleford town councillors received a building permit summary for August, indicating more than $20 million in construction has been authorized so far this year.

The Battlefords RCMP detachment received nearly 40 calls for service between 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 and 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5.

Battleford town council was able to move ahead with a bylaw to do an asphalt upgrade on 18th Street from Central Avenue to 1st Street, but the plan to do another on 38th has been dropped, at least for this year.

If you drink, don't drive. There was deadly reinforcement of that message last weekend on Saskatchewan's highways. Saskatchewan RCMP responded to six motor vehicle accidents between Aug. 29 and Sept. 1, with each one resulting in a single fatality.

North Battleford Fire Department says a water pressure fluctuation resulted in false fire alarms at NationsWEST Field House and Battlefords Aquatic Centre Thursday. NBFD responded to an alarm at the field house at about 12:45 p.m.

110th Street access to Pearson Avenue is now open, while St. Laurent Drive access to Pearson Avenue is now closed for construction. Please use 110th Street for access to Centennial Crescent and the apartments.

Onion Lake RCMP is seeking assistance from the public in locating a female youth who was reported missing from an Onion Lake residence Aug. 13.

The 800 block of 99th street will be closed for rest of the day. Residents of the 800 block, as well as part of the Don Ross Centre, will be without water before and during the repair starting at approximately 2:10 p.m.
