The Humboldt Emergency Services Charity Golf Tournament had another successful, if slower, year. In total, 84 golfers came out to the Texas Scramble four golfer best ball tournament for causes all across Humboldt and area.

City council has passed a resolution approving a one-ton vehicle weight restriction to the back alleys of St. Laurent Drive and Kramer Place.

The City of North Battleford has introduced its latest Community Safety Officer. Gregory A. Brown was introduced to council Monday by Fire Chief Albert Headrick. He comes to the city from Alberta, and has served in communities such as Winnipeg, Man.

The Maidstone detachment advises the public the current detachment building, located at 112 – 2nd Ave. W. in Maidstone was closed Wednesday and will reopen at the newly built building at 308 - 4th Ave. E. at 8 a.m. Monday.

Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship Industry Scholarships were awarded to 100 high school graduates from 66 communities around Saskatchewan this year. Northwest students earned eight of the scholarships.

Counsel have set Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. as the next court date in the Maryann Germann fraud case in North Battleford Provincial Court. Germann is charged with fraud in connection to her activities as administrator at the RM of Meota.

An unattended pot on a stove was the source of a structure fire Friday that has North Battleford Fire Department firefighters on the scene for two hours.

The preliminary hearing dates have been set in the case of Gerald Stanley, accused of second-degree murder in the Aug. 9 death of Colten Boushie.
