The city and the citizens of the Battlefords have given a final sendoff to former mayor Julian Sadlowski. The funeral for Sadlowski, mayor from 2003 to 2009, took place Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Notre Dame de Lourdes Roman Catholic Church.

The process of putting together a new traffic bylaw for North Battleford has begun. Councillors met for two hours Monday at City Hall to go through the 43-page draft bylaw.

The Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada (SEVEC) is currently accepting applications for the 2012-13 school year. SEVEC creates cultural awareness in students aged 12-17 and promotes the study of a second language.
