With the Battlefords North Stars first regular season game just under a month away, the team will hit the ice in preparation next week. The North Stars' training camp runs from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 at the Civic Centre. At 3 p.m. Sept.

It's becoming a familiar sight - the Lloydminster Twins winning the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League championship. The series came to an end Sunday when a battle between the Lloydminsters was decided.

It was close but no cigar for two local teams at the Western Canadian Championships over the weekend in Swift Current. Both the Bantam AA Muenster Red Sox and the Pee Wee AA Humboldt Dodgers lost in the final of their respective divisions.
