The Battlefords Midget Stars losing streak continued Thursday night, as they travelled to Meadow Lake to play the Beardy's Blackhawks.

Midget AA Barons The Barons played on the road twice this weekend, but neither of their game's results were recorded at press time. The Barons host Watson Friday, Prince Albert Sunday and Unity Dec. 22.

It was a slow start but a big finish for the Humboldt Broncos at the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) Showcase held in Weyburn over the weekend. The Broncos faced the Nipawin Hawks on December 4 in their first game of the weekend.

After the Christmas break, junior hockey teams would surely love the opportunity to play an exhibition game to wear off the turkey and get back in game shape.

Sunday, the 14-19-1-1 Battlefords North Stars travelled to Humboldt to take on the 19-13-0-1 Broncos in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action.

Seven members of the Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) Mohawks nine-man football team were honoured at the Saskatchewan Grid Iron Awards banquet held November 4 in Martensville.

For the first time in a few seasons the Maymont senior hockey team is 2-0. The Settlers played in Radisson Saturday and, with former Maymont Blues on both sides, the current Maymont team pulled out the 8-4 win.

Trevor Sack met with his new players just hours before stepping behind the bench for his first time and although the Stars were blown out 10-3 he sees potential in his players.
