The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has always been viewed as a developmental junior league to help players take the step from junior hockey to either college, university, the WHL or, in some cases, professional leagues.

A novice skier from the Humboldt area has been chosen to represent the province.

The Battlefords North Stars played their biggest game of the season Wednesday, but it was not their best game of the season. The North Stars hosted the Humboldt Broncos at the Civic Centre and fell 4-2, as their February record drops to 0-2-1-0.

Friday began with all 16 teams that qualified for the 2011 SaskTel Tankard, but at the end of the four draws at the Civic Centre only nine teams remain and one has qualified for the page playoff game Saturday.
