In honour of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 15 to 21, CNIB would like to recognize its wonderful volunteers. CNIB has always been an organization of people helping people.

Adam Swanson of Carlyle recently competed in the Saskatchewan Amateur Bodybuilding Association competition on Saturday, April 7, held in Regina at the Conexus Arts Centre. Swanson's hard work and dedication to the sport paid off.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of April 9 to 15. During the reporting period, police received 102 calls for service, including seven commercial and five residential alarms.

Bullying can be defined as bringing harm to others, whether it be physically and/or emotionally. This act makes those being bullied feel insecure, depressed, and stupid.

A former Estevan resident, who has moved on to Calgary with a career in acting, has recently been nominated for an award for a new web series she has not only performed in, but produced as well.

As pink day in Carlyle quickly approaches the talk around town is high. Some of these talks include the recent dramatics involving the movie Bully. The movie received an R rating originally in the U.S., and a PG rating in Canada.

They are making their way west, back to where they started. Zachary Lucky and his band are on its way back to Saskatchewan with a stop in Estevan next Friday.

The Government of Saskatchewan recently welcomed its newest K9 conservation officer, Jaks, while bidding adieux to retiring K9 officer Keela.

The Term 3 Report Cards will be going out on Friday, April 20. Student Led 3-Way Conferences will be from 5-8 pm on Wed. April 25 and Thurs. April 26. There will be no school on Friday, April 27. The 2012 Pink Day has been set for Wednesday, May 2nd.
