The Estevan Minor Hockey Association held its annual fall general meeting on Monday.

Meyers Norris Penny is supporting local sports programming with a classic tailgate party. Meyers Norris Penny (MNP) will be hosting a barbecue on Wednesday, August 25 outside their office. The event will kick-off at 11 a.m. and wind down at 2 p.m.

The sixth annual AM 1190/The Family Place Million Dollar Hole-in-one kicked off at Jubilee Park on August 18. Several residents made their way to the park to try their hand at a prize-winning swing.

The club champion in the men's division went to Carter Hilkewich with a score of 73. Chad Bailey took low net score in the first flight with Marshall Bakken coming in second. In the second flight, low gross score went to Kelly Hilkewich with a 76.

Weyburn's Garett Walbaum and Eric Evans were in Kindersley from August 11 to 15 to play as members of Team Saskatchewan in the Canada Cup Midget Baseball Tournament. In the opening game they faced Team Manitoba winning 5 to 3.

The Weyburn Canadian Tire is seeking applicants to its Jumpstart program. Jumpstart is a community-based charitable program that helps children aged 4 to 18 participate in organized sports and recreation such as hockey, dance, soccer and swimming.

The attendance was less than 100 but the energy and entertainment level was high when some of the stars of the Canadian Wrestling Entertainment team arrived in the Energy City.
