Oct. 4-10 marks the fire prevention week in Saskatchewan and across Canada. This year fire departments are focusing on fire safety when it comes to cooking.

Affinity Credit Union has announced the closure of their Estevan location due to a positive case of COVID-19.

The South East Cornerstone Public and Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Divisions have released their enrolment numbers for Sept. 30. Cornerstone’s Sept. 30 numbers were at 8,288 students, compared with 8,371 students on Sept. 30, 2019.

Pro-Life Estevan and Area participated in a life chain in front of the Estevan Court House on Sunday afternoon. About 20 people carried signs expressing their opposition to abortion. Social distancing was observed during the event.

There are two more new cases of COVID-19 in the southeast region, according to the daily information provided by the Ministry of Health on Sunday. One of the new cases is in southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.

Saskatchewan chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab is reminding people that they need to be safe this fall.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is notifying the public of potential exposure to COVID-19 at a business in Redvers. A person or persons attended the Advantage Co-op Home Centre at 3 Broadway Street South in the town from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sept. 28.

There are two new cases of COVID-19 in the southeast region, the Ministry of Health said Saturday. Both cases are in Southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.

The South East Cornerstone Public School has released a phased-in plan to return to extracurricular activities in the division’s schools. The plan was posted on the school division’s Facebook page on Friday.
