Enform celebrates grand opening in Weyburn

Enform celebrated the grand opening of the Weyburn on September 4 at Memorial Park. Enform's new Weyburn office, located on the second floor of MNP Place, will support and strengthen the oil and gas industry's focus on worker safety in the region.

Motorists reminded to slow down in school areas

On September 7, the Weyburn Police Service received calls of a disturbance in the area of Government Road and First Avenue. Police members attended and located a male and female who were having a loud verbal argument.

Athletics is in full swing at WCS with the boys' volleyball team hosting a tournament September 5 and 6. The football team was in Swift Current on September 6 and will travel to Estevan on September 13.

Walk of Hope raises close to $75,000

Hundreds of participants and volunteers took part in the Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC) Regina Walk of Hope on September 7. The annual fundraising event, which took place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Rick Hansen Park in Regina, raised $74,601.

Less than 10% of the crop combined

Cool, wet weather continues to delay harvest operations for many producers. Seven per cent of the provincial crop has now been combined, while 28 per cent is swathed or ready to straight-cut.

In August 2009, Lisa Loustel and her husband Jordan were looking forward to the birth of their first child. Little Iyanna was born August 13, full term, just four days before Lisa's due date. Her heart stopped beating instantly once she was born.
