Awareness of sexual violence and the value of the programs and services available to the female, male and child survivors, are the main focus during Sexual Assault Awareness Week.

The Sunrise Early Learning and Teen Support Centre will be celebrating Early Childhood Education Month with an Art Gala and Fundraising Auction event on Saturday, May 27, at the Weyburn Legion Hall.

The grill is hot for the new Comfort Cafe, since they opened in their City Centre Mall location back in April.

Sun Country Health Region is offering a six-week program for community residents of Weyburn and Carlyle this spring. The program, “LiveWell with Chronic Conditions” is a world-renowned program developed by Stanford University.

The Soo Line Museum and the Weyburn and Area Heritage Village will be open for the summer season as of Monday, May 15. Both the Soo Line Museum and the Heritage Village will be open from May 15 until August 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

A fundraising supper will be held to support the cost of a service dog for a local family. Michelle Roemer is organizing the fundraiser for her younger brother Nathan.

Elizabeth Milford passed away January 2, 2017 after a short bout of pneumonia.
