The Yorkton Film Festival just doesn't begin and end in May. Initiatives to promote and show films featured in the festival happen all year round.

The Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) senior boys' volleyball team travelled to the University of Regina (U of R) for a 20 team tournament. It was the first court action for the senior team this season.

The Yorkton Wildlife Federation (YWF) Trap Club hosted its annual Hooty Owl Trap Shoot over the weekend. YWF treasurer and trap club house manager Barry Signarowski notes that it's the 30th annual Hooty Owl Shoot.

The Board of Education of the Good Spirit School Division has announced the launch of a new and exciting award program for students on a very special day provincewide, Provincial Students' Day.

The Junior Saints football team opened the season with an exhibition game at home to the Esterhazy Warriors recently. The Junior Saints controlled play from the opening whistle, scoring a touchdown with 7:25 remaining in the opening quarter.
