The two events that require a foundation of soil on the floor of the skating arena have received the official go-ahead from town council.

The achievements of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute junior students in grades 5 to 8 were celebrated at the Junior Spectacular Spartans awards evening on June 13.

It was a nice day to go on a bus trip on June 6 when seven residents of the Kamsack and District Nursing Home (KDNH), along with five chaperones, boarded the Kamsack Handi-bus to travel to visit a greenhouse in Manitoba.

Recently, The Know United Church had two new members confirmed to the church, Ty Jacob and Dez Basken from Churchbridge. Family and friends attended the Confirmation Service. Congratulations.

As the school year is quickly coming to a close, teachers and staff at Canora Composite School made time to congratulate those students who excelled in their academics and extracurricular activities through the CCS awards program.

A special fundraiser for the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation reached its conclusion with participants riding a very special bike around Canora on June 14.

The winners of the annual Canora branch of the Royal Canadian Legion poster and writing contest included many students from Canora Composite School, and on June 14, they were presented their plaques by members of the branch.

The 17 th Annual Charity Golf Classic, held at Yorkton June 11 and 12, was a huge success with golfers and sponsors raising enough money to buy 12 pieces of medical equipment for eight facilities in the region.

Several district residents are among the recipients of The Health Foundation’s scholarship awards which were announced last week.
