The York Lake Golf and Country Club launched a new crowdfunding campaign last week in hopes of raising money to improve their clubhouse.

The Parkland Association of Disc Golf Champions’ Champion Tournament for 2017 is already shaping up to be bigger and better. “The event was a great success for our first year,” said PADG tournament chair Trevor Lyons.

On Saturday, Nov. 5, twelve members and supporters of the Good Spirit Cross Country Ski Club (GSCCSC) gathered at the shelter on the Trans Canada Trail in Good Spirit Provincial Park.

Kelsey Haczkewicz, a grade twelve student at Yorkton Regional High School, took part in the Canadian Cross Country Championships in Kingston, Ont. last weekend. The event brought together the best cross-country runners from all across the country.

Placing fourth in the conference competition where only the top three teams had qualified to advance to the regional competition, ended the 2016 season for the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute senior girls volleyball team.

Nearly two dozen senior curlers in Kamsack have joined to play during the 2016-17 season with Club 55. “We curl Monday and Thursday afternoons,” said Lloyd Thomas, drawmaster for the club.
