The Kamsack Comprehensive Institute junior girls volleyball team placed second at the eight-team district tournament played at KCI on October 29.

“All year we’ve been competing every weekend and we ride every day.” — Chrissy Kielstra The Yorkton New Holland Rodeo took place on Nov. 4-5. The rodeo was part of the Grain Millers Harvest Showdown.

The Yorkton Wrestling Club is now offering its first ever adult wrestling class. Sunday night kicked off the first class at the Yorkton Martial Arts Training Center. Austin Hovrisao, who has been wrestling for well over a decade, teaches the class.

The Sacred Heart Lady Saints took part in the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association 4A girls’ volleyball conferences last Saturday at Sacred Heart. In the first match of the day the Saints took on Moosomin.

A stock dog competition was just one of many events that took place at the Yorkton Exhibition Harvest Showdown over the past weekend. A stock dog competition, also called a sheepdog trial, involves an owner, a dog and a small herd of sheep.

Canora Composite School Cougars have another success to their name, with the school’s senior girls volleyball team placing second in a tournament it hosted on October 28 and 29.

The 28th Annual Grain Millers Harvest Showdown hosted the Yorkton New Holland Rodeo on Nov. 4 and 5. Competitors from all over the Prairies gathered to compete in a number of high-action events.

The Sacred Heart High School Saints football team put up a tough fight, but they were not able to come out on top of their first round playoff game against Fort Qu’Appelle over the weekend. The final score of the game was 20-12.

The Yorkton Regional High School boys soccer team has had a successful and eventful season which has culminated in a provincial silver medal this past weekend in Regina.

The Saskatchewan Provincial Age Class Cross-Country Championships were held in Yorkton on Saturday, Oct. 22. Yorkton had a great showing at the meet, with many high place finishes.
